What this grove knows about you

A grove asks a few things of you: a goal, the days you kept it, a name to call you by. None of it is asked for lightly. This page says exactly what is kept, what it is used for, who may look at it, and how to take it back — in the same plain words as everything else here, and with nothing hidden in small print.

Bramble the badger

Bramble, the badger

“I keep my own burrow. Nothing in it belongs to anyone else.”

The fact: Your daily log is never public, never shown to another keeper, and never used for advertising.

Bramble would say: read a line at a time. There is nothing on this page you have to agree to before you go back to your day.

A painted notebook lying open on a bark table beside a window, with a pencil and a pressed leaf.

The email you signed up with, the goal you chose, the days you came in, the notes you write to yourself, and the companions you have spoken to. That is the whole of it. There is no advertising code in the grove, no tracking pixel, and no profile of you built to be sold on.

Kept in your own account, for as long as you keep a grove

Cookies, and what stays in your browser

There is no advertising code in the grove, no analytics, and no pixel watching where you go next — so there is nothing to agree to at the door, and no banner to click away. What the grove itself leaves in your browser is small, and this is all of it:

  • Your sign-in. A token that tells the grove it is still you. It goes when you sign out.
  • Your choices. Night theme, text size, the order of your cards, and the ones you have put away.
  • Little markers. Which letters and parcels you have already read, so nothing chimes twice.
  • A random key. No name and no email in it — only enough for the gardener to count visitors, not know them.

Your account and every day in it stay exactly where they are — this only touches this device.

Keeping it in your own hands

Everything the grove holds about you can be taken out as a copy, or taken away for good, from your own settings — you do not have to ask anyone and nothing is kept behind afterwards. If something on this page is still unclear, that is the grove’s fault and not yours: write to whoever keeps it, above, and ask.

What happens to your data

  • Your email and password are only used to sign you in and keep your grove tied to you.
  • Your daily check-ins, notes and start dates live in your own account — nobody else can see them.
  • Your habit choice and streak history are used only to show your badges, grove and companion stories.
  • We never sell your data or use it for advertising, and no part of your log is public.

Where it is stored

  • Grove is built and hosted on Base44, the platform that runs this app and stores its database. Your account, check-ins and habit choice are saved on Base44’s servers in the United States.
  • Base44 encrypts that data at rest and in transit, and processes it only to run the app and keep it working — on our instructions, under its Data Processing Addendum. Other providers that receive personal information from Base44 are bound by data processing agreements.
  • Base44 holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification and describes itself as GDPR compliant. We, the makers of Grove, remain responsible for how your data is handled in this app.
